Camp Ignite is more than a summer camp — it’s a movement to empower young women and open the door to future careers in fire and emergency services.

Hosted by St. Petersburg Fire Rescue in partnership with the City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County Urban League, St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation, and the St. Petersburg Association of Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 747, this free, three-day program offers girls ages 13–18 an unforgettable hands-on experience.

Looking Back at a Powerful Summer with S.T.Y.L.E. — and Ahead to 2026

Pinellas County Urban League S.T.Y.L.E. Program

The Summer Training in Youth Leadership & Employment (S.T.Y.L.E.) Program, proudly funded by the City of St. Petersburg, wrapped up another incredible season — and the impact has been inspiring.

S.T.Y.L.E. is an expansive and immersive summer experience designed to equip youth with essential workplace skills and leadership capabilities. The program covers:

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Financial literacy

  • Team building

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking

  • Effective business communication

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Each participant gains the tools needed to succeed in future academic and professional settings. The program enrolls twenty-five youth ages 14 to 16, runs over three weeks in July, and is hosted at the Pinellas County Urban League headquarters. Students attend workshops three afternoons a week, and all who successfully complete the program received a financial stipend.
