PCUL and St. Petersburg, FL Fire Department Camp Ignite 2025: Sparking Confidence, Skills, and Future Leaders
Camp Ignite is more than a summer camp — it’s a movement to empower young women and open the door to future careers in fire and emergency services.

Hosted by St. Petersburg Fire Rescue in partnership with the City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County Urban League, St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation, and the St. Petersburg Association of Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 747, this free, three-day program offers girls ages 13–18 an unforgettable hands-on experience.

We’re still feeling the energy and impact of this year’s PCUL EmpowHer Girls Summit — a powerful half-day experience dedicated to inspiring middle and high school girls to lead, innovate, and thrive.

Hosted each summer by the Pinellas County Urban League as part of our EmpowHer and My Sister’s Keeper programs, the Girls Summit is more than a conference — it’s a movement. Our mission is to equip the next generation of changemakers with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to shape their futures and their communities.

Pinellas County Urban League S.T.Y.L.E. Program

The Summer Training in Youth Leadership & Employment (S.T.Y.L.E.) Program, proudly funded by the City of St. Petersburg, wrapped up another incredible season — and the impact has been inspiring.

S.T.Y.L.E. is an expansive and immersive summer experience designed to equip youth with essential workplace skills and leadership capabilities. The program covers:

• Entrepreneurship

• Financial literacy

• Team building

• Problem-solving and critical thinking

• Effective business communication

• Professional appearance and demeanor

Each participant gains the tools needed to succeed in future academic and professional settings. The program enrolls twenty-five youth ages 14 to 16, runs over three weeks in July, and is hosted at the Pinellas County Urban League headquarters. Students attend workshops three afternoons a week, and all who successfully complete the program received a financial stipend.

Pinellas County Urban League (PCUL) proudly announces the Southern Soul Boots on the Ground- Equal Opportunity series concert, a high-energy celebration of culture and community featuring viral Southern Soul music sensation 803 Fresh. The event will be held on Thursday, June 5, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM at The Floridian Social, located at 687 Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg.
